North Hero’s Planning Commission is proposing new zoning regulations that are controversial.
The Shoreland district minimum lot size is being reduced in the name of “affordable housing”. Really? Wouldn’t homes built inland be a bit be more affordable?
The North Hero Planning Commission proposed a zoning revision, calling for a 60-foot setback for an airplane runway. Would that be enough for you, if you lived next door? In response to this concern, a petition signed by North Hero voters to ban helipads and airstrips in North Hero is expected to be on the ballot this coming March.
